Developing Students’ Critical-Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity Skills through Purposeful Technology Use

Session Abstract:

Creating a culture of continuous improvement with a focus on teaching and learning is critical to the development of 21st century learners. This session focuses on developing students’ Critical-Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity Skills through the intentional use, exploration, and engagement of technology and multimedia tools. When used purposefully, technology can be used to guide students toward critical-thinking, building interpersonal communication, effectively working with teams, and creating and innovating products. Participants will explore ways to prepare students for these 21st century skills while building their own toolkit and action plan for doing so.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Focus on developing students’ Critical-Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity Skills through the intentional use, exploration, and engagement of technology and multimedia tools.
  • Discuss when used purposefully, technology can be used to guide students toward critical-thinking, building interpersonal communication, effectively working with teams, and creating and innovating products.
  • Explore ways to prepare students for these 21st century skills while building their own toolkit and action plan for doing so.
